Affiliations SANIFAA: Our affiliation with this governing body provides us with needed assistance and guidance, we are able to host events and all SANIFAA affiliated club members can attend our sanctioned shoots and it will count towards earning their provincial recognition. SANIFAA events: Hunters Round, Field Round or an Indoor round. Read more about these, the rules and tips at http://www.archery.org.za/  SANIFAA book of rules:  COMPLETE BOOK OF RULES - PDF

ABO: Our affiliation with this governing body enables us to host more hunter related events, we are fortunate to participate in the hunter education program and ensure that more competent  hunters hunt at RSA hunting farms. Every farm owner/manager of a hunting farm would like to know that the hunter who enters through the farm gates are competent, with the ABO COP programme we are able to assist them. Newcastle Archery club have 3 registered facilitators to assist with the completion of the programme, to read more on the COP programme, click here We will host ABO sanctioned events, these are challenging events, which consist of a 20 target field, 1 arrow per target at an unknown distance.

COP Program ABO developed the Certificate of Proficiency (COP). The COP is a self-study course designed to be implemented as a minimum standard in bowhunting. To be certified a candidate needs to pass a written examination and a practical shooting exercise, when these are successfully completed the candidate will receive a certificate. When a hunting farm owner/manager book a bowhunt and the hunter have a COP, he will know that the hunter was tested and found competent.
