Bivane dam 12 September 2009, Pongola Archers hosted an 2D event at Bivane Dan near Vryheid, and Newcastle archery club pitched up in numbers. Johan Cronje took full honours in the Archery competition and Ewert
Bellingan won the bass fishing competition on the Sunday. This was a great event hosted at a fantastic venue. The archers stayed overnight in one of the chalets and found it great value with understated luxury. According to feedback, the event will be hosted again in ± 4 months at the same venue, this will provide YOU with a chance to won the floating trophy which is at current in Newcastle. Thanks Pongola, for
an great event!! Click here to view pictures |

15 August 09, Indoor shoot at Lentevlei (Brinks dam) This was a great fun day, our clubs first real indoor competition, at a spectacular venue. The shooting range was a little small and thus the archers was divided to shoot in groups of 6, but
with the help of Pieter Snyman who acted as a marshal when not competing the event flowed and there were no problems. Rynard Claasen was responsible for the logistical side of the event and was did a great job, THANKS RYNARD!! Follow the link to view the Pics, (not great quality) |

SABA shoot 1 Aug
2009 This is the first shoot where the club have entered a team and for most of us this was the first SABA. Conditions where not favourable, with the temperature below 4°C and continuous rain it was for the faint hearted. We had a ball, lots of fun; and broken arrows! Unfortunately the camera was in the car for the greatest part of the shoot, but we managed to get a few pictures at the end. Click here to view

21st March 2009,
Grey Goose, open club event
We had our first field event at Grey Goose Farm Lodge, Newcastle. It was pouring with rain the entire week up to the event, but on the day it was clear. The field where soaked and it made the competition a bit more difficult.
The Best archer on the day could only manage to get a 506,
and this emphasizes the degree of difficulty they had to overcome.
The day was a great success and we will host a similar
event in near future, see you there!! to view pictures of the
